GEOINT Hackathon

United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF)

Fri, 12 Jun - Sun, 14 Jun 2015

The goal of the Hackaton is to bring together and introduce both non-GEOINT and GEOINT-savvy coders to interesting problems requiring inventive coding solutions. In addition to enabling participation from the non-GEOINT coding world, the end result will be a working code base that performs a specifically requested set of functions or provides answers as outputs.

USGIF and its sponsor organizations will provide a list of optional tools and data links at the event. GEOINT Hackathon participants will be challenged to create an open-source solution within a roughly 40-hour timeframe. The geography of interest and specific hack goal will be announced Friday evening during the 6 p.m. kickoff briefing, and the event will conclude Sunday afternoon.

The winning team will be awarded $15,000 and receive free passes to attend GEOINT Foreword and the GEOINT 2015 Symposium, June 22-25, in Washington, D.C., where they will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with leaders from industry, government, and academia.

All collaboration-centric coders are encouraged to sign up.
