Aftermath of fires in Puma Valley, California, USA in October 2007. This image from the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) on NASA Terra satellite was taken on November 6. The scorched areas appear as a bright pink or red color, while the bare, dry land is a lighter pink and vegetation is bright green.
