6th European Congress on Civil Protection and Disaster Management, Bonn, 8-9 September 2010

Wed, 8 Sep - Thu, 9 Sep 2010
International cooperation is needed more then even. Disasters in the 21st century continue exposing relief organisations and emergency services to new, growing challenges. Mutating viruses like the A/H1N1 virus, natural disasters like seaquakes and seismic sea waves prove to pose global threats to the civil population. The situation in Haiti and Chile show how important a frequent and constant exchange between different aid organisations is. Enhancing European and National networks therefore will be the major goal of this year’s European Congress on Civil Protection and Disaster Management. In the last five years the conference became an important platform for international actors in this field.

Here, you find all relevant information about the conference which takes place on September 8th and 9th 2010 in the city hall of Bonn. The convention is organized by the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK), the Federal Technical Relief Agency (THW) and the newspaper Behörden Spiegel.
