2nd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CRISIS MAPPING (ICCM 2010): HAITI AND BEYOND

Fri, 1 Oct - Sun, 3 Oct 2010

Date: 1-3 October, 2010
Location: Boston, MA U.S.A.

The purpose of the ICCM 2010 is to bring together the most engaged practitioners, scholars, software developers and policymakers at the cutting edge of crisis mapping to address and assess the role of crisis mapping and humanitarian technology in the disaster response to Haiti. As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently noted in a policy speech in Washington DC, "The technology community has set up interactive maps to help us identify needs and target resources" in Haiti. The question is, how did we do and how can we improve? Here is an overview of the unprecedented role played by the CrisisMappers Group in Haiti. ICCM 2010 will bring together the major players working on the Haiti response to identify lessons learned and formulate best practices for the use of technology in future crises.
