We live in the world where there is a dire need to be more creative in finding new ways of doing business that are compatible with achieving a more sustainable society. The accelerating processes of globalization and trade liberalization, supported by advances in information technologies, have fundamentally changed the landscape of the surveying professions. Surveyors not only need to innovate their products and processes to keep up with competitive pressure and increase productivity but also to expand their professional roles and create their ability to participate in foreign endeavors.

Since the past decade, the South East Asian Survey Congress (SEASC) and the International Surveyors’ Congress (ISC) have brought together the multidisciplinary nature of surveyors, be it geomaticians and land surveyors, quantity surveyors, building surveyors and property valuation surveyors, in unique partnerships that fuel rapid advancements in its delivery to share innovations that would build a sustainable environment. Surveyors of today (and tomorrow) are in unique position to influence the societies of the future and they need to establish their role as lead professionals in the area of sustainable development.

 “INNOVATION TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY”

This theme seeks to capture the multidisciplinary nature of surveyors, the diversity of their achievement and the applicability of the four (4) surveying disciplines that allows the development and application of innovative technologies to achieve sustainability in all related areas. This event intends to highlight initiatives aimed at encouraging the convergence, sharing and use of innovation technologies as well as other initiatives to forge new industry collaborations and identify potential avenues of research and development across all fields of disciplines for the benefit of the surveying communities towards a sustainable environment.
