Cameroonian Geological and Volcanic Research Station (ARGV) of the Institute for Geologic and Mining Research (IRGM)

The ARGV is responsible for implementing within the IRGM a program of geophysical and geochemical studies. This structure focuses on natural hazards, structural, geodynamic and geological prospection. Several projects have been established since 1982, they have mainly focused on the Cameroon Volcanic Line (CVL) in general and particularly on Mount Cameroon, the only active volcano on a chain which extends over 1,500 km. Activities are conducted in three laboratories: the Seismology Laboratory, the Laboratory of Applied Geophysics and the Laboratory of Volcanology. Website:
