Flood management is becoming more and more important to society, and flood modelling is seen as an integral part of flood management. The Online course on flood modelling for management aims at focusing on models that are used for planning and design as well as for forecasting floods so that mitigating measures can be taken in time. Decision support systems (DSS) based on models are increasingly being used by engineers and scientists in flood management.

Examination

It is possible to take part in the examination of this short course. If you obtain a passing mark for this examination and return to UNESCO-IHE within four years after completion of the short course to follow a full MSc programme, you will receive exemption for this short course/module. The costs for this exam are €250 extra and should be borne by yourself. Taking part in the examination is not compulsory.
