WMO and UNITAR join forces on climate services

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) will cooperate with UNITAR

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has announced in a recent press release that it will cooperate with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in order to strengthen links between providers and users of climate services. This cooperation will contribute to the implementation of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS).

NASA/CNES Ocean satellite retired after successful mission

 Jason-1 helped to follow changes in the tropical Pacific Ocean

The Jason-1 ocean altimetry satellite has been retired after achieving scientific, technical and international success in its life time. The satellite was launched in 2001 as a joint project of the NASA and the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES).
