To commemorate the milestone of 30 years of progress in radar altimetry, the European Space Agency, in collaboration with the French Space Agency (CNES), is organizing the 30-year anniversary symposium.
The Symposium, encompassing these events, will be held from Monday, September 2nd, to Saturday, September 7th, 2024, in Montpellier, France. Saturday will be devoted to training on Fully-Focused SAR processing and SWOT measurement principles and processing algorithms, covering inland water, oceanography, and the cryosphere.
The Symposium covers themes such as the historical perspective on progress in radar altimetry, advances in our understanding of the dynamic ocean, coastal processes, and the polar ocean. It also addresses altimetric contributions to the gravity field, marine geoid, bathymetry modeling, and orbit determination. Additionally, topics include altimetry over land and inland water, advances in our understanding of the cryosphere, synergy between altimetry, other data, and models, as well as challenges and outlook sessions.
