The virtual expert meeting was structured in terms of plenary and technical sessions.  The meeting brought together experts and participants from national space agencies, disaster management agencies, academia, private companies, non-government, regional and international organizations, and UN-SPIDER Regional Support Offices; and students from several universities.

Experts from the NASA Disasters Programme, from the UN-SPIDER Regional Support Offices in Brazil and Colombia, CEPREDENAC and UN-SPIDER presented information on procedures, portals and tools to be used to assess risks, in early warning systems, and in disaster response efforts.

The expert meeting allowed UN-SPIDER and CEPREDENAC to make participants aware of their efforts, and it contributed to raise awareness regarding novel solutions developed by the space community to contribute to the implementation of the Space2030 Agenda and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
