IWG-SEM autumn meeting 2012 (Geneva)

Mon, 15 Oct - Tue, 16 Oct 2012

Participating Organizations: DLR-ZKI, GEO, ITHACA, JRC, NASA, National Geomatics Center of China, OGC, SERVIR, UNOSAT, USGS

Meeting Summary

The meeting focused on practical inter-organization coordination issues. The sharing of the information about the emergency mapping activation was discussed in details. Why, when, what and how to share the activation metadata was discussed and agreed. Related to that was also the establishment of the basic "Code of Conduct" which the group members should follow. Furthermore the members started to work on "Mapping Guidelines" for emergency mapping - the first document which should lead to better harmonization of the information contained in emergency maps. Together with that came the need to establish common vocabulary of the terms used in emergency mapping domain.
