In Maldives, UNICEF is trying to ensure exclusive breastfeeding and quality complementary feeding, together with safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. It also tries to improve the quality of education and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in Maldives.
Ecuador has been described by analysts as one of the most unequal societies in the world. To ensure that most people get at least the basic resources for survival is a huge challenge. UNICEF has a long and recognized experience in supporting the provision of basic social services of health, nutrition, education, child development and protection, in attending children when they are in emergencies, and in promoting the rights of children.
The Ministry of Education’s mission is to ensure both access to and quality of Early Childhood, Elementary and High School Education in Ecuador. It does so through the integral, holistic and inclusive education of children, youth and adults, taking into account the possible multiculturalism, multinationality, ancestral languages and gender. It promotes a perspective that strengthens social, economic and cultural development, and the unity of citizenship in the diversity of Ecuadoran society.
