Russia and China Discuss Cooperation of GLONASS and BeiDou Navigation Systems

Joint GLONASS BeiDou Project

At a meeting in Vladivostok on 18 April 2014, Russian and Chinese officials met to discuss cooperation between the Russian GLONASS and the Chinese BeiDou navigation systems as part of a Russian-Chinese committee co-chair meeting in preparation for regular meetings between the two countries' prime ministers.  Ministers from both countries see major prospects of cooperation in regional support and the development of chipsets (microprocessors) allowing integration between the two systems.

Beidou: Thailand becomes first overseas client

Launch of the 14th and 15th BeiDou navigation satellites.

Thailand has become the first overseas user of the Chinese satellite navigation system Beidou - the Chinese version of the American GPS. China National Radio said a 2 billion yuan (9.5 billion baht) agreement to promote the use of Beidou in Thailand's public sector was signed in Bangkok last week, as the South China Morning Post reported.
