UN-SPIDER hosts the FOSS4G side event on Collaborative Information Management for Emergency Response

UN-SPIDER is hosting a side event of the FOSS4G conference.  The side event, conducted in the UN Campus in Bonn, Germany, on 24 August 2016,  is part of the activities conducted by the International Working Group on Satellite Emergency Mapping IWG-SEM.
 
This side-event aims to bring together different stakeholders from the space-based information field who are members of IWG-SEM, as well as stakeholders dealing with emergency management and crisis response. They will share lessons learned on the use of novel IT applications to gather, analyze and share geospatial information.  Participants will asl work on different recommendations which will be presented as a basis of discussion for the FOSS community during the conference. 
 
Participants include representatives of the EC-JRC, from the National Health Institute of El Salvador, from the Z_GIZ Department of the University of Salzburg, Koblenz Landau University, University of Bonn, University of Muenster, the Bonn International Conversion Centre and UN-SPIDER.
