Remote sensing application used for agricultural studies

The Odisha Space Application Centre (ORSAC) will use remote sensing to review the damages caused by tropical storms and flood on the paddy fields in India. The agency is using for the first time remote sensing application to evaluate damages on crops. The National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) is supplying ORSAC with data.

The study is expected to provide a clear image of the losses and publish conclusion in two months. ORSAC is also proposing an infrastructure damage study in the Phailin-hit districts in collaboration with the national agency.
