Astrium's SPOT 6 hi-resolution Earth observation satellite will be launched on Sunday 9 September 2012 at 05:21 (BST, 09:51 local time) from Sriharikota in India. SPOT 6 has a 60-km swath and will deliver imagery products with a resolution down to 1.5 metres. The satellite will stay on orbit for 10 years. Like its SPOT 7 twin SPOT 6 is designed and built in Toulouse by Astrium Satellites. The four satellites will form a constellation offering multi-resolution products in record time, providing an ever-better service for its customers.
