Give your input: 2012 WMO Survey on the Use of Satellite Data

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has launched a call for input for their 2012 Survey on the Use of Satellite Data. This Survey is designed to collect updated information on the worldwide status, plans and related challenges within three major areas:

  • Access to satellite data and products,
  • Applications and use of satellite data and products,
  • Training on satellite utilization.

Your responses will help bridge the gaps between the large amount of satellite data available, and the tremendous need for improved and easy access to those data, products, tools, derived information, and user training. Information collected through this Survey will also shape international action by WMO and its partners in effectively responding to satellite-specific needs within all countries in support of science, applications and decision-making.

The survey targets users worldwide (organizations, value-adders, individuals) involved in meteorological, climate, water, disaster and related environmental applications. The survey takes about 15-20 minutes, is available in four languages and is open until 30 June 2012.
