The Dominican Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ mission is to promote a foreign policy in favour of the national interests of the Dominican Republic, oriented to the defence and safeguard of its sovereignty, peace and international security promotion. It also strengthens multilateral and bilateral mechanisms for the national development and common affairs of the international community.
The Institute of Technology “Las Americas” is a technical institution for higher education, specialized in technical-vocational training, English as a second language, and high technology areas, under a model of “technical college”. “Las Americas” hosts Centers of Excellence in Information Technology, Multimedia, Mechatronics and Software, as well as the School of Languages ITLA.
The National Statistics Office (ONE) is the institution that controls the official statistics in the Dominican Republic since 1936. As technically specialized organism and coordinator of the National Statistical System, its mission is to produce and disseminate official statistics of quality and transparency to help decision making in public policy and national development.
The Dominican Institute for Water Resources’ responsibility is to ensure citizens’ access to water in a healthy and equitable way and to organize efficiently the management of the water resources in social and environmental harmony. It promotes better living conditions and well-being of families and individuals through the preservation and rational use of the water resources.
The geological Surveys are national organizations which guarantee an updated geological and environmental knowledge on the national territory of the Dominican Republic. They are responsible for executing national geological mapping on an appropriate scale, evaluating geological resources (mining, water, energy) and their integration into geo-referenced databases.
The Dominican Meteorological Office aims to develop, implement and provide meteorological services that are within the jurisdiction of the State. It is the national regulator of research and production of meteorological information.
The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources is responsible for establishing standards for the conservation, protection, enhancement and restoration of the environment and natural resources, ensuring their sustainable utilization.
The SESPAS is the Dominican Ministry of Health. It is responsible for guaranteeing equitable access to high quality health services, promoting social health through the essential functions of public health to satisfy the needs of the Dominican population, doing emphasis on priority groups.
