Forest fires sweeping across European Russia on Friday killed at least 25 people and forced the evacuation of thousands in the hottest weather since records began 130 years ago.

More information: Due to efficient actions of EMERCOM of Russia staff and other engaged forces forest fires in the Russian Federation did not destroy any residential house, no one perished. Today, 320 islands of fire occurred, 210 were put out. The area of forest fires during the day reduced by 7 thousand ha and equals 128 thousand ha. The most serious situation is in the Ural, Volga and Central FD due to dry and windy weather, people walking in the forests, careless handling of fire as well as due to hard-to-reach areas of forest fires.   Source: ReliefWeb
