Training Target Audience: 

The training workshop will bring together early- and mid-career scientists from developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America wishing to increasescientific knowledge of disaster mitigation and space technology. The policy makers and managers from developing countries are also welcome to apply for participating in the workshop. As the number is limited to 20 people, only those who are qualified can be selected as formal participants. Female applicants will be given priority.

Training Requirements: 

Conditions: early- and mid- career scientists, policy makers or managers of UNESCO-inscribed properties from developing countries with background of space technologies or disaster mitigation as an advantage; skills of fluent English communication required.

Additional Information: 

Those applicants who have been selected will be provided round-trip international airfares between their home countries and Sanya (economy class), and the local expenses such as board and lodging, field tour, local transportation, etc. during the Workshop.

Training Target Audience: 

The course is open to all participants who are working or will be working in the organizations where spatial information is used or considered to be used for the purpose of disaster risk management, disaster management, or disaster risk reduction. There is no prerequisite GIS knowledge for participant who is interested in this course. The course welcome participants from all geographic areas, however the class size is limited to 30 persons. ADPC accepts nomination on a first come, first served basis provided the applicant meets the course requirement.

Tuition Remarks: 

The standard course fee of US$3,175 covers the course tuition, training materials, accommodation with breakfast, meeting package, and study visits. Participants will be responsible for their own travel expenses and arrangements, airport transfers, visa application, lunch and dinners, health/accident insurance, and other personal expenses. Participant who wish to seek own accommodation can choose an alternative course fee package B of US$2,275

Climate change and its impacts have become one of the most significant challenges of the 21st century. Climate-related risks, whether concurrent or prospective need to be addressed swiftly as part of the development strategy at any level, from a global level down to a local level.

Training Target Audience: 

The “International Training Course on Climate Risk Management (CRM-05)” offers a unique and timely opportunity for development and disaster risk reduction practitioners from: The Government, international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, civil society organizations, private sectors and others to enhance knowledge, expertise and skills on Climate Risk Management enabling them to face this challenge.
