Efficient and timely provision of Shared Situational Awareness (SSA) and Crisis Information Management (CIM) are essential to enable effective decision-making in Multi-dimensional Peace Operations and are a prerequisite for effects-based operations and the comprehensive approach, founding principles of the United Nations and African Union integrated mission planning processes.

The course is open to civilian, military, and police experts currently working or planning to work in peace or humanitarian operations or other crisis management organisations in the area of information management. The Training Course  on Small Satellite Missions will be held from 29 October to 9 November 2012 at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehardun, followed by facility visits to the ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC) at Bengaluru.

Fellowships for nationals of some countries are available.
