The Geological Surveys are national organizations which guarantee an updated geological and environmental knowledge on the national territory of the Dominican Republic. They are responsible for executing national geological mapping on an appropriate scale, evaluating geological resources (mining, water, energy) and their integration into geo-referenced databases.
The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh established the Centre for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) as a public trust in 2002. CEGIS' mission as a scientifically independent centre of excellence is to support the management of natural resources for sustainable socio-economic development using integrated environmental analysis, geographic information systems, remote sensing, and information technology.
